DAY 01: HANOI ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at Noi Bai airport, you are met and transferred to hotel in Ha Noi. If time permits, we take a cyclo ride for a short excursion through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. O/N in Ha Noi.
DAY 02: HA NOI CITY TOUR (B,L)
Vietnam's capital is a stylish and gracious city that retains a unique old world charm and some Asia’s most striking colonial architecture. The many lakes and parks make for relaxing atmosphere. Today we spend a full day exploring Hanoi. Starting with Museum of Ethnology (closed on Monday), which offers informative and well-documented display on the country’s 54 ethnic groups, include elaborate and colorful hill-tribal costumes.
After that, we come to visit the Temple of Literature- a complex of the Confucius Temple built in 1070 and the first Royal National university in Vietnam built in 1076. This temple and its beautiful garden provide an opportunity to learn more about mandarin education in Vietnam since 1000 years ago and to relax in tranquility. In the afternoon, walk around the alleys of Hanoi Old Quater, visit Hoan Kiem lake and Ngoc Son temple or Jade Mountain temple situated in the heart of Hanoi. The Water puppet show will bring us to an end of Hanoi city tour. O/N in the hotel in Hanoi
DAY 03: HA NOI - MAI CHAU (B,L,D)
Depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau - a picturesque valley, home to many hill tribes including the Dzao, Muong and Thai. Arrive in Mai Chau around noon,check in Thai ethnic homestay in Van Village, a village of the ‘White Thai’,who predominantly inhabit this area. Lunch in the homestay with a typical Thai ethnic meal. In the afternoon, take a short walk or biking around the village where you will be welcomed by friendly local people, communicate with them and explore their traditional lifestyle. Enjoy a traditional dancing show at night with taste of Ruou Can, the local rice wine. O/N in the homestay of Thai Family.
DAY 04: MAI CHAU - CUC PHUONG NATIONAL PARK (B,L,D)
After breakfast, drive to Ninh Binh via Nho Quan with its peaceful countryside settings. Arrive Cuc Phuong - the first National Park in Vietnam,was established in 1960! We make a visit of the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre to learn about the significant work being done to help protect the endangered species of the park and the Turtle Conservation Centre as well. Rest of time is free for walking around the center and the lake to refresh all your tiredness. Dinner and overnight in a bungalow in the National Park. O/N in Cuc Phuong
DAY 05: CUC PHUONG - VAN LONG - HOA LU - TAM COC (B,D)
After breakfast, We drive to Van Long Lagoon. Boarding a small rowing boat to explore the Van Long Nature Reserve which covers some 3,000hectares of picturesque water landscape. You will enjoy two hours rowing through spectacular scenery made up of limestone mountains reflected in emerald water and lush rice fields. The forest is home to Delacour Langur - an endangered species with only 200 individuals remaining globally. Disembark and transfer to Hoa Lu - the ancient capital of Viet Nam built in 10th century with ancient temples of Dinh & Le kings remained intact.
In the afternoon, we continue heading to Tam Coc, where we will get a small rowing boat to discover an outstanding karst waterscape on Ngo Dong River. Tam Coc as its name means « three caves » adorned with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes like gemstones. Continue the cruise along the river, you will see spectacular scenery of rice fields and limestone peaks mirrored in crystal water. Row back to the pier and The rest of day cycling in the winding roads passing lotus pond, temple and cottages, typical scenery of Vietnamese countryside to visit Bich Dong pagoda situated on a hillside. DAY 06: TAM COC - HA LONG BAY (B,L,D)
After breakfast, depart to Ha Long bay via Thai Binh, Nam Dinh,passing peaceful countryside typical of Red River Delta with endless rice fields and winding river. Arrive at Ha Long Tourist Wharf around noon. Embark the elegant wooden junk. Lunch will be served as the boat cruises to visit numerous islands and lime-stone outcrops rising abruptly from the emerald water. It is also an ideal opportunity to enjoy the sea and refresh your soulin its splendid setting. Dinner with fresh seafood prepared by our experienced chef. A sweet night on board in your private cabin. O/N on board.
DAY 07: HA LONG – HA NOI – flight to HUE (B,L)
Enjoy the breakfast and savor an incredible the sunrise from the sundeck while boat is cruising to Luon Cave and Halong floating village then back to the harbour. On the way back to Hanoi, stop at Bac Ninh province for visiting Vietnam's first Buddhist centre, the But Thap Pagoda, which was built in 13th century and reconstructed in the 17th century. Then we drive to Noi Bai airport for the flight to Hue. Upon arrival at Phu Bai airport, you are met and transferred to hotel in Hue. O/N in the hotel in Hue.
DAY 08: HUE CITY TOUR (B)
Hue- the poetic city which used to be capital of Nguyen dynasty.After breakfast, we start our tour with visiting Hue Imperial City -the last vestiges of Vietnamese royal era, including : Flag Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace & Forbidden Purple City(Tu Cam Thanh), Dong Ba Market and the famous Tu Hieu Pagoda. DAY 09: HUE – THIEN MU PAGODA – EMPEROR’S TOMBS (B,L)
Start a new day with a leisure boat trip along the poetic Perfume River, stop en route to visit Thien Mu pagoda (Heavenly Lady pagoda)- the symbol of Hue city. Cruise toward to upstream of perfume river to visit the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang and Khai Dinh. By the afternoon, we drive back to hotel in Hue. O/N in Hue.
DAY 10: HUE – DA NANG – HOI AN (B,L)
Morning drive on the Mandarin road – a scenic journey from Hue to Hoi An, which allows you to see a picturesque Vietnam with stunning beaches and lust tropical forest. Take some shots on route before visiting the Museum of Cham Sculpture - with many precious antique artifacts of the former Cham Kingdom on display. Transfer to Hoi An ancient town, once an important international trading port and now a charming riverside town. Hoi An features a fantastic combination of Chinese, Dutch, Japanese and Portuguese culture. You can see it by your own eyes when visiting Japanese Pagoda Bridge, Chinese street, Phung Hung old house, Hoi An market & ancient port, Phuc Thanh pagoda – the oldest pagoda of Hoi An (1454) built with Chinese bronze.
Moreover, on the 1st or 15th of every Lunar month, Hoi An ancient town will be lighted up with colourful lanterns, making it sparkling than ever. Freetime to discover a little Disneyland of Vietnam at night. O/N in the hotel in Hoi An.
DAY 11: HOI AN – MY SON – HOI AN BIKING (B,L)
We begin the day with an excursion to My Son, Vietnam’s most evocative Cham site recently named by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The Cham people considered this area, in the shadow of Cat’s Tooth Peak, the domain of the Gods, and it served as the religious and intellectual center of the culture. In the afternoon we drive back Hoian town to take a short riding on bicycle to exploring the rural countryside of Hoian. The biking will finish at Cua Dai beach, free time at your leisure. O/N in Hoi An.
DAY 12: HOI AN - CHAM ISLAND - HOI AN (B,L)
After breakfast in the hotel, we transfer by car to the harbour atCua Dai. Relax in the fresh cool wind and enjoy a scenic boat trip to ChamIsland (water drinks, coffee and fruits are available onboard).
Arrive at the island, start with scuba diving to see the coral reefs around the island. Walk to visit Chong Beach, the most beautiful beach on the island with soft white sand and endless view of the blue ocean. Have lunch on the beach under the palms tree with sound of surf.
In the afternoon, you can choose from a list of activities to keep you delighted:
- Swim, dive (mask and fins are available), unwind on the tropical beach, sunbathe (mats and hammocks available).
- Walking along the coast, discover local life and daily activities in the fishing villages
About 15:00 return to the mainland. Transfer back hotel in Hoian.O/N in Hoi An
DAY 13: HOI AN – DA NANG - flight to SAI GON (B)
Free time in the morning to enjoy shopping in Hoi An, the tailored clothing mecca of Vietnam, until we transfer to the Danang airport for your flight to Sai Gon. On arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, you are met and transferred to the city centre to visit Notre Dame Cathedral (built in 1877)and the Central Post Office, built by the French. Tour end by visiting Ben Thanh Market – the busiest business centre in Ho Chi Minh City. O/N at the hotel in Saigon.
DAY 14: SAI GON – BEN TRE – CAN THO (B,L)
Leave the bustling city of Saigon behind, we depart to the Mekong delta considered as Vietnam’s biggest “rice basket” Arrive at Hung Vuong pier( Ben Tre town), embark and cruise along the Bến Tre River – a tributary of the great Mekong River to explore the local lifestyles and their daily activities. Stop at a brick –field belonged to Mr. Tu Lo to see how Vietnamese people made brick by hand and a coconut candy home factory located along the canal to witness the process of making the candies and other souvenirs. We then have an opportunity to taste bee honey tea at a local honey farm and variety of tropical fruit that are widely available in Mekong Delta orchards. Walking or cycling through the coconut groves and green rice fields to soak and relax in the tranquil countryside atmosphere.
The afternoon begins by a boat trip (with small rowing-boat)through a maze of waterways shaded by two rows of palm tree. Cruise back to the pier and disembark. Transfer to Can Tho. O/N in Can Tho.
DAY 15: CAN THO – SAI GON (B,L)
Early morning (from 5am), take a boat trip through the winding waterways of Cai Rang floating market- the biggest and busiest floating market in Mekong Delta. This is the best time to visit the market as it is crowded with hundreds of sampans that offer fruits, vegetables, plants, food and other goods for trade. You will earn a great opportunity to take photos, communicate with locals and taste fruits. Leave the market, we get back to Sai Gon. On the way back, stop at Binh Thuy old house( 5kms from Can Tho city) and Long Dinh mat weaving village where you can see how to make a mat - a very popular item closely associated with Vietnamese culture. Back to Sai Gon for overnight. O/N in Saigon
DAY 16: SAI GON - DEPARTURE (B)
There is free time for you to relax or further explore Ho Chi Minh city. The trip ends after your transfer to Tan San Nhat Airport for departure.The hotel room is available until noon only.
